Roofing works overview image
If your property needs a new roof many factors can come into play when pricing, below will give a guide and possibly answer some common questions you may have before contacting us for a quote.

How we cost a new roof is mainly determined on roof size, material (ie slate) labour and scaffolding, although other factors that can come into play.
The shape of your roof can impact cost , if your roof has dormers or valleys for example this requires more time and skill for a neat and tidy finish.
If your roof has solar panels this takes time and skill to remove and re instate safely.
Skip hire may be needed. We remove all rubbish from every job but depending on how much rubbish removal is required for example a full roof stripped of tiles etc on a large roof we may need a skip hire to keep working areas safe and tidy.
New Guttering, the additional components may need replacing if original guttering is damaged by moss and dirt or simply looks old and tired we can fit new flashings, facia board, soffits, guttering and down commer pipes to compliment your new roof.
Chimneys, if your roof has a chimney stack it may need re leading or new cowells. We also have members on our team who can repair chimneys if needed for example if your chimney needs re pointing of bricks etc.
We inspect all areas of the roof before starting works and once stripped we can inspect roof timbers and trusses. We can then inform customers of any rots or defects, we take photographs of all aspects of the job and can show customers before agreeing any extra repairs.
Materials, obviously on larger roofs materials cost more for example battens and water proof membrane etc are all priced per square meter the larger the square meter the larger the cost of materials. Things like tiles all have a different cost, if for example your roof has a welsh slate tile and needs to be replaced like for like a welsh slate tile will cost more per tile than a cement slate effect roof tile. We are committed to reducing waste and so will discuss with you the stripping of saving of as many reusable tiles from your own roof thus bringing down the need to purchase more, this it a labour intensive and time taking skill to ensure as many can be saved as possible.
Specialist roofing, for example warm roofs (conservatory) these roofs are all individual because of size and extras and once we have inspected and sized your roof we can price competently, things like inside lighting, plastering, velux roof windows etc all play parts when pricing these types of works.
